As the Producers Guild’s Green Committee Chair and founder of iDig2Learn, a project of Open Space Institute, Inc., a non profit 501(c)3 public charity, Delfico’s focus is on restorative practices. She supported the creation of NYC Film Green, the nation’s first city-led sustainability initiative for the media industry, and co-produced videos highlighting sustainable actions on popular television shows. |
As founder of iDig2Learn, now celebrating 10 years, she creates educational programming, hands-on events, and designs gardens, all of which invite children, their grown-ups and the public to explore science and the origin of food through plant life. For these projects, Delfico was one of ten finalists for the TEDx Manhattan’s “Changing the Way We Eat”.
Her commitments include restoring natural habitats, supporting compost programs and creating urban food forests. She advocates for open space, green roofs and waste reduction. She is now expanding the tree canopy with NYC partners by planting native trees, and working to build Monarch butterfly corridors of native plants along the banks of the New York Estuary aka the East River to support declining pollinators. |
