Our organization is proud to partner with Cornell University’s Department of Garden-Based Learning, where we have played a pivotal role in updating their renowned Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) course—one of the most respected PDC programs in the nation. Through this collaboration, we are developing an innovative teacher training program set to launch in Summer 2026, which will offer New York State educators valuable continuing education credits. This initiative is supported by a grant from Cornell University, underscoring their commitment to advancing permaculture education. Our founder and director, Monica Ibacache, serves as the LEAD instructor for Cornell’s PDC programs, bringing her expertise to the forefront of curriculum development and educator training.

Oregon State University

Our ongoing partnership with Oregon State University (OSU) further strengthens our commitment to high-quality permaculture education. Monica Ibacache serves as a faculty member and instructor for OSU’s Professional Permaculture Design Certificate course, guiding students through a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip them with the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue permaculture as a profession. This collaboration ensures that our educational offerings remain current, rigorous, and accessible to a diverse community of learners seeking to become professional permaculture designers.

Murfreesboro, Tennessee

Building on our collaboration with Oregon State University, we have partnered with the Parks and Recreation Department of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to develop a groundbreaking 96-hour youth workforce development program. This unique, open-source initiative—the Fundamentals of Permaculture and Food Forest Design program—provides high school students with an opportunity to earn OSU certification while gaining hands-on experience in permaculture and food forest design. This program stands as a model for accessible, practical permaculture education for  the next generation of environmental stewards and professionals.
