The first North American Permaculture Convergence (NAPC) took place at Harmony Park, Minnesota. Monica Ibacache, Beyond Organic Design's founder, played an integral role in making it happen. "Come Together...Build A Movement" was the NAPC theme, and an estimated 400 permaculturists attended this historic event with Open Space sessions, discussion groups, networking, and alliance building, and so much more. 

Below is the NAPC opening panel discussion: "Permaculture: Where have we come from? And where are we now?"

August 2013: Bronx, NY


Laura Alvarez of Friends of Soundview Park, South Bronx Community Based Organization, invited BOD to lead several workshop sessions of community led design during their program "Nature and Art".
Update:
This was the beginning of what has now become Bronx Arts Factory. Also our current partnership of  Mommy and Me " Art and Nature" workshop series.

August 17th, 2013, The Commons, Brooklyn, NY: Cuban Permaculturist Roberto Perez

Urban farmer/environmental educator Roberto Perez packed the house at The Commons as he told how Cuba has used permaculture to achieve sustainability in food, transportation, and energy.
